Bed wetting is a result of parents who are doing something wrong. Not true! Again, most enuresis runs in families and is most often associated with children under the age of 6 who are heavy sleepers.

Punishing children will stop them from wetting the bed. Not true! In most cases, enuresis goes away on its own. Punishing the child will only make the problem worse.

Bedwetters have emotional problems. Not true! Except in rare cases, bedwetting is nothing more than a normal stage in childhood development. However, children who have parents who belittle, punish or shame the child who wets the bed may experience emotional problems as a result.

A child’s diet is the cause of bedwetting. Not true! Except in very rare cases, diet has little or nothing to do with bedwetting.
